Micro-internship brief ≈13h across ~4 days — share and gather real usage before submittinglow-code

Build a no-code app your campus would actually use

No-code app builders (Glide, AppSheet, Softr) turn a spreadsheet into a real app in an afternoon — AI makes the data model and copy sharper still. Build one for a genuine campus need, load it with real data, and get real people to open it.

The work brief

  1. 01Pick a real need at your school/college/colony and collect the real starting data (actual mess menu, actual club list).
  2. 02Ask ChatGPT or Gemini to design your sheet structure — columns, types, sample rows — then correct what it gets wrong about your real situation.
  3. 03Build the app on Glide/AppSheet/Softr free tier: at least 2 screens, search or filtering, and a way for users to submit something.
  4. 04Publish it and share the public link with at least 5 real potential users.
  5. 05Collect what they said and what they actually did (views, submissions), and make one improvement based on it.

What you’ll produce

4 deliverables

Submission standard

Submit the live app link, the real data behind it, a screenshot, and your user evidence. The app must open without login. Include your AI workflow: tools, best prompts, and what you changed from the AI’s output. Include a screenshot of the real submissions/visits (Sheet or analytics, with timestamps) behind your usage story.

  • The need, who has it, and the real data you started with

    Written responseRequired
  • Public link to your live app

    Public linkRequired
  • Screenshot of the app’s main screen with real data

    Image uploadRequired
  • What your 5 real users said/did, and the improvement you made from it

Name (first names/initials ok) what your 5 real users said AND what the data shows they did — views/submissions with dates. Then the one improvement you made because of it.

    Written responseRequired

You’ll complete these inside your private workspace.

What you must submit as proof

This brief requires evidence an AI can’t fabricate.

  • Screenshot of real usage: the backing Sheet with submissions, or the builder's analytics, showing dates/timestamps

Must show real entries/visits with timestamps in YOUR app's dashboard or Sheet — not typed-out claims.

    Image uploadRequired

Submissions without this evidence cannot be submitted.

Protect other people in your proof. Blur faces, names, phone numbers and email addresses before you upload, and refer to anyone you worked with by role or number ("Listener 1", "the stall owner"). Your proof is only ever used to check your work — it is never published, never appears on your certificate, and is never shown in your public portfolio.

How your work is evaluated

The passing benchmark is 70/100.

Live & real

29%

The app opens publicly and holds real (not lorem-ipsum) data.

Genuine utility

14%

The app addresses a need real people around the student have.

Real usage loop

29%

Real users tried it and the app improved because of them.

Usage is evidenced, not claimed

29%

If the app URL is dead, or the usage screenshot is missing/empty/undated, or it contradicts the written user evidence, this fails regardless of the narrative.

How we grade your AI usage

30% of your score

Using AI is the point — it’s the skill this certificate proves. You’ll answer three short questions about how you used it: what you asked, what was wrong with its first answer, and what you changed. Specific, honest answers score high. “I pasted the brief and submitted the answer” scores near zero.
