Micro-internship brief ≈5h in one sitting — includes a 1-hour gap before the recall checkno-code

Design a logo 3 ways — then test which one sticks

Logo design isn’t one lucky generation — it’s directing the machine, then testing memory. Use AI to explore 3 genuinely different logo concepts for a real club, shop, or project, refine the strongest by hand, and run a memory test with 3 real people.

The work brief

  1. 01Pick a real subject: your school club, a family shop, a friend’s venture. Write its one-line personality.
  2. 02Generate 10+ marks with an AI image tool, pick 3 genuinely different directions — e.g. wordmark, icon-based, badge/emblem — and note why the rest fail.
  3. 03Refine the strongest through 3+ iterations by hand (spacing, weight, colour).
  4. 04Test: show each of 3 people all three for 5 seconds, then ask an hour later which they remember and why. Record the results.

What you’ll produce

4 deliverables

Submission standard

Submit the subject, all 3 concepts in one image, your iteration log, and the memory-test results, plus your AI workflow. Also submit the public Canva view-link to your working file and a screenshot of your own editor showing your account name and today's date.

  • The real subject and its one-line personality

    Short answerRequired
  • All 3 logo concepts in one labelled image

    Image uploadRequired
  • Your iteration log on the strongest concept: what changed each round and why

    Written responseRequired
  • The memory test: who, what they remembered an hour later, and what that decided

Name each of the 3 testers, quote what they recalled an hour later, and tie each answer to concept A/B/C so it reconciles with your concepts image — generic or invented recall fails.

    Written responseRequired

You’ll complete these inside your private workspace.

What you must submit as proof

This brief requires evidence an AI can’t fabricate.

  • Public Canva view-link to the file holding your 3 concepts and iterations

Canva 'Share > Anyone with the link can view'. Must be YOUR live, editable file — a private or dead link fails.

    Public linkRequired
  • Screenshot of your OWN editor mid-work — account name/avatar and today's date visible

Show the real Canva/AI-tool interface with your username and the system date, not just the exported logo.

    Image uploadRequired

Submissions without this evidence cannot be submitted.

Protect other people in your proof. Blur faces, names, phone numbers and email addresses before you upload, and refer to anyone you worked with by role or number ("Listener 1", "the stall owner"). Your proof is only ever used to check your work — it is never published, never appears on your certificate, and is never shown in your public portfolio.

How your work is evaluated

The passing benchmark is 70/100.

Genuine range

29%

The 3 concepts are truly different directions, not colour swaps.

Refinement craft

29%

The iteration log shows deliberate design decisions.

Real memory test

14%

The test really happened and informed the final pick.

First-party provenance

29%

Auto-fail if the concepts are AI art with no live editable file behind them, if the editor screenshot lacks the student's account or date, or if the memory test reads generic/invented — regardless of how polished the logos look.

How we grade your AI usage

30% of your score

Using AI is the point — it’s the skill this certificate proves. You’ll answer three short questions about how you used it: what you asked, what was wrong with its first answer, and what you changed. Specific, honest answers score high. “I pasted the brief and submitted the answer” scores near zero.
