The work brief

  1. 01Search your own name (and username) on Google and one AI chatbot. Record what comes up.
  2. 02Review your phone: which apps have camera/mic/location/contacts permissions they don’t need?
  3. 03Check one activity trail (Google My Activity, Instagram data download, YouTube history) — what picture does it paint?
  4. 04Paste your sanitised findings into ChatGPT or Gemini and ask it to play a strict recruiter — keep the flags you agree with, bin the rest.
  5. 05Fix 3 real things: revoke permissions, delete/lock down old posts, tighten privacy settings. Screenshot before/after for one fix.

What you’ll produce

4 deliverables

Submission standard

Submit what you found, your 3 cleanup actions, and before/after evidence for one. Blur anything sensitive in screenshots — showing you know WHAT to blur is part of the skill. Include your AI workflow — your prompts to the chatbot-recruiter and which of its flags you kept or binned. Share the AI 'recruiter' chat link, and make sure your before/after is clearly the same account/setting.

  • What your audit found: search results, risky permissions, what your activity trail reveals

    Written responseRequired
  • The 3 things you fixed and why those three

    Written responseRequired
  • Before/after screenshot of one fix (sensitive parts blurred)

Before/after must be the SAME screen/setting with the change visible and a timestamp if possible; blur sensitive parts.

    Image uploadRequired
  • The one-paragraph advice you’d give a younger student, based on what surprised you

    Written responseRequired

You’ll complete these inside your private workspace.

What you must submit as proof

This brief requires evidence an AI can’t fabricate.

  • Share link to your 'strict recruiter' AI chat

A public share link to the chat where you pasted your sanitised findings and had the AI play a strict recruiter.

    Public linkRequired

Submissions without this evidence cannot be submitted.

Protect other people in your proof. Blur faces, names, phone numbers and email addresses before you upload, and refer to anyone you worked with by role or number ("Listener 1", "the stall owner"). Your proof is only ever used to check your work — it is never published, never appears on your certificate, and is never shown in your public portfolio.

How your work is evaluated

The passing benchmark is 70/100.

Audit depth

29%

Findings are specific to their real accounts, not hypothetical risks.

Real cleanup

29%

Three real fixes, one evidenced before/after.

Transferable advice

14%

The advice comes from their own findings, not platitudes.

Real footprint, real fix

29%

Auto-fail if the before/after doesn't show a genuine change on the student's own account, or the recruiter chat is missing/generic.

How we grade your AI usage

30% of your score

Using AI is the point — it’s the skill this certificate proves. You’ll answer three short questions about how you used it: what you asked, what was wrong with its first answer, and what you changed. Specific, honest answers score high. “I pasted the brief and submitted the answer” scores near zero.
